Virtual Reality Dome

Virtual Reality

1871 is a major hub of Chicago’s technology and entrepreneurial ecosystem and hosts nearly 500 early-stage companies as well as nationally recognized accelerators, industry-specific incubators, and tech talent schools.

Each week, 1871 hosts TGIF, a weekly happy hour open to 1871 members. The event attracts around 200 community members, and is an informal opportunity for the community to connect at the end of each week. TGIF is a great 60-minute event full of networking, food, and drinks.

Midwest Immersive made this happy hour extra special for the community by setting up the Virtual Reality Dome, and providing several people with their first VR experience.

The VR Dome was created to give community members their first ever Virtual Reality Experience and also educate them on how these emerging technologies are already disrupting a broad range of industries.

Midwest Immersive provided two distinct experience that inspired and entertained visitors on the possibilities of this new computing platform.
